Robert married Anna TERRILL daughter of Joel TERRILL and Anna LEWIS in 1794 in Albemarle County, Virginia. Anna was born on 24 Apr 1756 in Albemarle County, Virginia. She died 1 after 1839 in of Rutherford County, Virginia. + 10 M ii Peter HACKETT Sr 11 M iii John HACKETT (possible son) was born before 1764 in of Albemarle County, Virginia. He died 1 after 1819 in of Buckingham County, Virginia.
In October 1778 a John Hackett was witness to the will of Jane Jefferson in Albemarle County, Virginia. On the Buckingham County, Virginia Personal Property Tax List of 1819 there was a John Hacket. I have made assumption that he belongs to this family, because of the Albemarle and Buckingham County connections.+ 12 M iv Thomas HACKETT Sr 7. He was christened on 11 Feb 1720/1721 in Christ Church, Middlesex County, Virginia. He died 2 in 1792 in of Caroline County, Virginia. The will of was dated in 1792 at Caroline County, Virginia.
There was a Thomas Hackett in Hanover County, Virginia in 1740 (Hanover County, Virginia Land Patent Books 18, 19).
In 1740 the following persons owned land along Buck Mountain Creek: William Carr, John Hackett, Samuel Garlick (he received a patent in 1741, adjoining land he had prevously purchased from William Carr), Thomas Hackett, Joseph Keaton, David Mills, William Robertson, Josiah Woods. Thomas Hackett is mentioned as a landowner, along with John Hackett, on 25 November 1743 in Louisa County (Louisa County, Virginia Land Patent Book 21, pages 644-648, abstracted in "Magazine of Virginia Genealogy", volume 26, number 3, page 234). His land was described on the branches of the north fork of James River at the foot of the great mountains. Thomas Hackett owned 400 acres in Albemarle County, Virginia which he had purchased from James Cox (Albemarle County, Virginia Deed Book 6, pages 421, 422, 455-457). On 15 November 1774 he gave those same 400 acres, described as on Lynch's River joining the Orange County line, to his grandson, Martin Hackett. In 1774 he is recorded in Caroline County. There is a 1775 deed signed by Thomas Hackett, Jr. in Albemarle County where he lent land and slaves to Martin Hackett. Johny Scott was a witness to the deed. Thomas Hackett, Jr and Thomas Hackett, Sr were on the 1787, 1798 and 1799 Personal Property Tax List of Caroline County, Virginia.

On 15 November 1774, Martin Hacket received from his grandfather, Thomas Hacket, 400 acres in Albemarle County, Virginia on Lynch's River, joining the Orange County line. He was to take possession after the death of his uncle, Martin Hackett, who was living on the land.
Martin Hackett was in Albemarle County in 1774. A Martin and Thomas Hackett were taxed in Caroline County from 1782 to 1787. There is a Martin Hackett in Albemarle County on the 1785 Census with 2 white souls and on the 1787 Tax List there he is listed with only himself and 2 slaves. He was the only Hackett on the 1787 Tax List of of Albemarle County. In 1786 and 1787 in Albemarle County, William Crosthwait was involved with bonds from Martin Hackett, witnessed by J. Powers. A Martin Hacket is counted on the 1790 Census of Virginia in Albemarle County with 2 tithes. He lived on his father's land in Albemarle County. Martin died without issue. His wife Mary and brother-in-law, Johnny Scott were executors of his will.Martin married Mary. ~Table of Contents~
